Ceritified Copy (Copie Conforme) [Why You Should Watch It]

As I said in my previous post, I'm not gonna use the word review because most of the things I want to technically review isn't new, so reviewing something old for me is a bit rude. So I'm gonna use 'Why you should watch it' instead. And here it is my first 'Why you should watch it' movie, and since I've said that French movie now is my new hobby I guess you guys aren't surprise with this hehehe. Although this movie is not 100% French.

Okay this is a film by Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami and starred Juliette Binoche and William Shimmel in the lead role. The film tells a story about a British writer (played by Shimmel), a french mother who owns an antique shop (played by forever adorable Juliette Binoche), and their confusing relationship which goes unfold (I think) as they walking and wandering around in Tuscany, Italia. Which also explain that although the movie is directed by Iranian director, starred by British and French people, the set itself is in Italia. Charming idea, really.

As usual, if you ever watch Kiarostami's film, you will notice similar style of directing. Still camera, car scene, lots of moment that looks photographic, and of course lots of dialogue since his movie usually consist of like 90% dialogue (random calculation), and of course (again) mind boggling story which in the end (if you think carefully) is not really mind boggling at all. Kiarostami manage to twist the story perfectly, so in the end we focus on what's more important rather than occupying our thoughts with superficial details which is not really important (although fascinating indeed).

The film start with James Miller (Shimmel) do a presentation about his book titled Copie Conforme which in english means Certified Copy. The book arguing about originality and the differences between original and its copies, please plant this thing your mind because this topic will occur numerous times. We can see a woman (Binoche, let's just call her Elle since her real name is never revealed) listen carefully, but in the end she has to leave early because her son is hungry, but not without leave her number to his translator.

Later, they finally meet and then wandering around Tuscany while talking about originals and copies. But the conversation take into an interesting point. They don't just talk about art, they also talk about everything including human, claiming that we are only copies of our parents DNA, which makes us not original at all. The main point is, why should we praise originals while their copies is as good as them if not the same. Interesting (right?). Well it gets more interesting  so stay on your seat.

When they have a drink at coffee shop, the waitress mistook them for a couple. Elle do not correct her and instead, she play along talking about her husband habit and their wedding ceremony. When James Miller know what Elle did, he too do not correct this. Even after they leave the coffee shop and wandering (again) they talk as if they are really a couple and Elle's son is his son too. Okay okay, maybe they're just pretending. BUT (see the capital), it's too perfect to be an acting. They both know each other, habits, likes, blah blah.
I guess the synopsis has to stop here, one more words and I'll ruin the excitement.

Ehhhh is this the part where I should give conclusion? Because one more word from me will really ruin your watching experience. This is the kind of film where you will scream WTF at the end, but makes you think after you put your DVD in its case. Of course I too, search in the internet for an answer, but in the end I make my own conclusion, and honestly it feels greater than just receive somebodies doctrine (kinda). Well, I do wanna put my own perspective of this movie, but I guess not now. I'll update it later...

So please guys do watch it. The directing is superb (as always it's Abbas Kiarostami duh), the acting is..... Well it's Juliette Binoche, and she is never better. Miss Binoche gives us a very believable woman, her mood changes, her expression and even her movement is on spot. Not to forget that William Shimmel gives us a very good job for his first acting gig, but of course everybody want to give their best if you are paired with Juliette Binoche.

Here is some pics from my most favorite scene in this movie

Ahhh maybe I'm an arthouse maniac and I prefer strong story with harsh reality touch. But at heart I'm really just an innocent human who adores love story and searching for genuine love *ewwwwhhhh. The main thing is this scene is my most favorite.

Yupz, the beautifying yourself scene. Filmed in one shot, Juliette Binoche gave us a very subtle performance while she doing something so superficial.

Just look at this scene, it's so beautiful it looks like a picture. I mean, of course this is indeed a picture. But, when you watch this scene it is really look photographic and very beautiful.

I guess those pictures close this post, thank you for reading and be sure to watch this movie Au Revoir guys.

R.I.P. Cory Monteith (and how this impact me)

To start it, I want to say may Cory Monteith's soul is in peace now. Please give strength to those whom he left behind such as his family and his girlfriend Lea Michelle, because I'm sure they are devastated by his loss. It took me so long to write this post, because just like other gleeks, Glee and Cory Monteith mean so much to me (a fact that I realize only when Cory had passed away). I want to manage my words so it looks tidy and readable hahaha.

I still remember it was noon in my country, my parents and me had a mini fight, and the desire to commit suicide was never bigger. Of course, that kind of desire had occured in a very long time, but i have this wish that 'If I should commit suicide, it should be beautiful, look peaceful, with so little agony. Because I (think I) have suffer enough, I don't need more suffering'. I decided that I would commit suicide using Carbon Monoxide, but sadly comitting suicide is not an easy things to do (yes, things, with an 's', it's not a typo). It needs a lot of research, research, and research so you will die perfectly instead of do it recklessly, and keep on living, be disabled, and become a trouble for those people around you.

The more research I have done, the more educated I am, and the closer I am to this 'Perfect suicide' philosophy. In fact, that noon I was closer than I ever was. I know what must be done, where to buy the 'equipment', how to perfectly die. And all I need is a little practice, brace myself, and BAM I'll be gone and bye bye to the cruel, rude, suffering world.

And this brings us back to the Cory Monteith news. I'm sorry for the long intro, but I think it was necessary hahaha. I was taking a little rest from all the Carbon Monoxide information grasping, and I went to read news in the gaming website (specifically IGN). I saw the news of Cory Monteith has passed away and I was like 'not funny IGN, this must be a hoax'. I immediately went to google news and I felt like Adele's song Skyfall played as background music when I knew that it was true. The Canadian PD had confirmed it and..... There were no words. It took me a few seconds to fully understand that Cory Monteith had passed away. I know, I know lots of people die and that including Hollywood stars. James Gandolfini also had passed away a couple of weeks ago, BUT I honestly never watch The Sopranos. With all due respect to James Gandolfini (may his soul rest in peace too), but Glee is a show I watch, I criticize, and I hold close to me, that's why Cory Monteith's dead impact so much.

I went to twitter, of course. And RipCoryMonteith was trending worldwide, but only a few of my friends tweet mourning words. And I realized that this news is fresh, Cory Monteith has just passed away, not had passed away and suddenly my mind did a flashback of Glee (fastly), and once again I feel devastated. That's not the end fyi, suddenly the internet filled with Cory Monteith's quote such as this one
And should I say that once again (for many times that day) I was devastated.

Which brings us to how Cory Monteith's death impact me directly. Funny right? I was researching to commit suicide, to throw away my life through the window of living world. I still honestly think that I am suffering enough and I still want to commit suicide. But someone just died, so young at 31, at the peak of his carreer, and so aware of his trouble and mistakes that he checked into rehab a few months ago. That's the attitude of someone who cherish their lives. And now he's gone (lots of 'dead' repetition I know), I mean someone who wants to live just died, and I someone who live want to die. Someone who mean so much to his fans, family, and girlfriend just died, and I someone who is worthless even to myself keep on living. What kind of world is this?????

There are so many of Cory Monteith's quote, and most of all is about reaching for your dreams, and atone for your mistakes. It makes me think, maybe I should grab my dreams, reach for the stars. Maybe I should continue making my novel, try to make short movie. I have to give worth in my life at least for me. If I still want to die, then let it be, but if in the process of reaching my dreams I found happiness, well that's another story. It brings me to this conclusion, I will bear all the suffering, atleast for now and continue to make my dreams come true.

Thank you so much Cory Monteith. I don't care what people say about life after death, all I believe is, if the person is nice, he deserves to be in peace. Of course I don't know if Cory is a kind person in real life, but I think he is kind and let his soul rest for now. You are an inspiration while you were waking up, and now you are sleeping and still an inspiration. We will and especially I will always remember you Cory Monteith.

49th Baeksang Art Award Red Carpet 2013

I know it's already a month, but there are so many beautiful dresses that I think, too good to be skipped. So yeah I'm here again reviewing dresses. Btw congratulations for the winner, and based on the winner I really think that Baeksang started to look for quality over popularity, but maybe that's just my imagination

Han Hyo Joo
I personally like the dress, and that hair cut really suits the dress. The only that didn't suit me is her face hahaha. She has a really soft and gentle face that this look just doen't suit her, but maybe she's just trying to change her image into a more serious one. Anyway good dress.

Kim Hee Ae
I must warn you guys that we will see a lot of black dress. But these will black dress will have interesting cut that it won't bore you, so survive please. Beautiful black dress with beautiful cut, done. Oh btw congratulations for winning it.

Kim Go Eun
What can I say about Kim Go Eun's dress. Simple look, simple dress, simple cut, but she avoided boring area with simple pattern. Still simple doesn't make this good, A little bit jewellery will make this looks extraordinary.

Park Ha Sun
Black dress again. But this one has an interesting shape, with all those fluttery and flowy accent Park Ha Sun looks ethereal, like norse goddess, the hair and simple earrings perfected this look.

Park Shin Hye
The feather thing makes this dress looks so heavy, if you think your dress is heavy be sure to choose a very very very soft colour, like creme, soft pink, or broken white, or greyish white. Anyway Park Shin Hye looks beautiful and that's all that matters.

Park Se Young
Park Se Young use to dress beautifully right? This one is kinda hit and miss, the top area looks faboulus, the sharp cut, and although the necklace doesn't really necessary it's passable. The middle side is horrible, it makes her hips look like Nicki Minaj.

Nam Bo Ra
Black and simple cut, really guys. If everything about your look is simple try to accesorize it, bling it, and honestly that necklace doesn't help much.

Uhm Jung Hwa
A very strange dress right? But Uhm Jung Hwa knew how to wear it, because that pose really kills it, it flaunts the dress shape. And look at that golden bracelet. A quite funky look, great job.

Jung Eun Ji
Ehhh, it's the bad ehhh not the good one. Both the shape and the length looks weird, it's not black so, yeah it's okay.

UEE (After School)
BAD BAD BAD. Do I have to explain why? The hair, the oversized necklace, the dress shape and colour, gaarrrhhhh makes my eyes hurt. I love those shoes anyway.

Kim Sung Ryung
There are lots of dress with bizarre length, honestly this is not good. Maybe the shoes are awesome, but the length ruins it and the necklace is weird. I'm speechless really.

Park Eun Ji
Really Park Eun Ji? Like seriously? If you want to know how to pose with slitted dress, try googling Angelina Jolie Oscar dress. Overall this is a very lovely color, and personaly that circle shining things in her hips combined with those shoes and make up make her funkier, so I guess I like it. That's the whole point, be consistent with your look. Just throw that pose away and it'll be great.

Shin Soo Yeol
What can I say, fresh colour, great shape, awesome shoes and fitted hairdo. And with that flowy accent combined with that pattern, Soo Yeol looks like a goddess from Norse Mythology, great job.

Kim So Hyun
I always though that you can still look young without do a princess look, and she showed us how. With ruffle, headband, and shorter dress according to Kim So Hyun will avoide from looking old, and in this case I have to agree.

Lee Jung Hyun
Both the colour and shape are interesting, but not groundbeaking enough. A pretty safe look in my opinion.

Goo Eun Ae
Simple cut, simple color, but with a twist in the waist and that eclectic red purse, this look became interesting and not boring at all, good job.

SECOND PLACE
Chae Jung Ahn
What can I say? The color is very attractive, the cut is also flattering. And she wore it with swag, this is a very strong yet elegant at the same time.

Kim Min Hee
I know what you all gonna say, what? two second place? But I can't help it, this red carpet was oversaturated with black and white, but she did the look in every right way I just have to admit it.

FIRST PLACE
Suzy (Miss A)
Yupz I myself shocked at how good suzy looked. I mean that red almost fuschia colour is very flattering. And that smokey make up just fits really well with the look. Suzy is officially a grown up and she embrace it with class. Props to Suzy.

You Love Someone and.....

Seems like I've been a little active with this blog, so I guess R-Patz and K-Stew relationship is not the only thing that goes on and off and on (?) again hahahahaha (dry laugh) ahem. In this post I will talk about love specifically mine, and a few changes that I will make in this blog.

To the main topic we go. I loved, or love someone in the past 3 or maybe 2.5 years, my classmate which is a funny thing because each  term they remanage the class allocation randomly, It had pattern, but still randomly and I found myself in the same class with him in every term. Okay I lied I had this one term and only one where we went separated, but that's not really matter because in the end we always hang out together. Our identification only separated by eleven number so again we often end up in a same group for a few assignment, quite often in fact. Okay stop with all the college, I hate college.

He's the first person I know in this college, well third in fact if you count my sister who was already enrolled and my uncle who was lecturer in this university. But sill, he's the first person I know although obviously I'm not the first person he knew since I pass the mini welcome party (screw me). There, I knew that our house isn't far and we hang out a lot, we sat together, joking, eating, talking, sharing so much private information, basically he's my best friend and in a very short amount of time I fall in love with him.

He is..... uhm a little bit hard to describe, from the appearence to  behaviour, everything about him is unique. I would say that he is quite handsome or maybe has the potential to be handsome (I know, weird choice of word). Although my friends will say either he is handsome or quite good looking, okay lots of my friends said that he is plain, but I know it was a joke and even as a joke they still think that he is plain which is a good thing for me at least. Do you know Mario Maurer? I'm not saying that he looks exactly like Mario Maurer, but he had some of Mario's feature which makes you (or maybe I) sometimes notice their resemblance that's why I said he has the potential to be handsome. Think of the ugly version of Mario Maurer, since he is so handsome even the ugly version of him still quite handsome.

Huh, take a long sigh. We used to be really close, so close that few of my friend call us soulmate. He is always overreact, exagerate, his mood changes drastically, talkative, complicated, and this list is still goes on. But I was quite, introvert, my mood change more drastically than him, I'm weirder than him, of course I have this fabulous mask of sanity, so on the outside I look charming, funny, and all but, we'd become so close that he eventually knew the real me and I guess he found that I was boring and he found another friend. We're still close by the way, he's still one of my best friend, but not as close as it used to be. I'm kind, I know that I am very kind, I guess that's why we're still close until today.

Funny right, rather than talk about my love I prefer to talk about our friendship instead. Because I know this is a hopeless case I learn to give up. There was a day when I was so in love that I would cry and blah, but now I'm over it. I still love him, I couldn't forget him, but I can maintain my heart now and I really hope for the best for him.

I like writing, but I never really good at writing I guess which is a bad thing because I want to write novel, I prefer making movie, that doesn't mean I excel at making movie, but I had my vision and it doesn't go unmanaged. That's why I still learn and I often re read my post to notice my mistake. Now I will talk about a few changes in my blog. There will be no review. The reason is, some of the things I'll (technically) review is not new and in my dictionary reviewing something old is harsh, so it will become "why you should watch/hear/play/read it". I'm currently have 2 movies, 2 albums, and a game in mind so please wait and see. And thank you for reading this blog, thank you so much please keep reading it motivates me.

Re-Looking at...... EVERYTHING

Well hello guys (if really there's anyone out there), seems like I've been vacuum for like more than 6 months sigh. Well seems is not the perfect word because I really have been vacuum for more than 6 months. Lazyness, apathy, stress, and others did stop me to write and that fact is tickling me because I really like to write you know, I feel this certain kind of happines in the form of writing. But my complex is not the main topic in this post, because I'm gonna tell you what happen in 6 months and what I should write, but failed to.

Okay here's the list :
1. Worldwide event :
  • Oscar winner and it's red carpet, which was very dissapointing, cuz Argo is not that good. Emmanuelle Riva lost (screw) but at least Jennifer Lawrence won it, so.... yeah that's okay.
  • Berlin Film Festival
  • Cannes Film Festival
  • Paris, Milan, New York Fashion Week
  • Baeksang Award and it's red carpet
  • E3
2. My own event :
  • I became a host buddy for Phillipine's student. They did some kind of student exchange and I know that I'm currently not joining any kind of organization, but my friend knew that I'm excelled at English so they recruit me. Kinda funny since Phillipinos are this blog most visitor, YAY thank you so much Phillipines (and USA citizen you guys are the second).
  • My faculty owns a new building so we kinda moved and I had a hard time adapting in the new place
  • My birthday, it's around this date and my birthday somehow remind me of this blog, that's why I visit it
  • I want to write a novel and make my way to direnct my own short movie, which I hope get a recognition so I can keep making movie (pray)
  • My new fascination with French and Korean movies and Phillipino movies (it used to be K-pop and K-drama)
  • My dislike with my class (nothing new I know)
With all those topics I could easily write 10 posts, but yeah. And not to mention there are so many movies, albums, and games that I have to review I'm going to keep it relax, but I'm not going to restrain myself too. Hopefully I can keep writing. Thank you for anyone who read and (especially) comment. I know I don't have followers for now, but I'm looking forward to it.
See you next time

Emmanuele Riva deserves the BAFTA and she also deserves an Oscar

I haven't made any post, and I know this will be short. I am obsessed with J-Law but when I heard there's this French woman nominated, I got immediately curious. I watch Amour and she's just amazing. I know what I said before is nonsense, unmanaged, but please watch Michael Haneke's Amour, it's amazing.

I'm not saying J-Law is bad, she's amazing. But when I watch Emmanuele Riva in Amour there's this electric shock that comes through me. I know immediately that she deserves an Oscar and in fact I will be surprised if she don't get it.

[Review] Journey

*Intro
Here it is, at last I'm reviewing 2012 Game of the Year. You can shake your damn head as many as you like on the fact that this year GOTY is not a triple A. All I can say is play it, and let the game speaks for itself. I personally like it because I don't have to spent like 60$ for a GOTY hahaha screw me.
*Warning this review represent my opinions only feel free to post yours

Yupz that's the trailer, and congratulations for all the GOTY awards you have collected so far, I bet thatgamecompany had a hard time counting the award (evil smirk). Ah hem let's get on it, Journey is a game developed by thatgamecompany exclusively for PS3, produced by Robin Junicke, directed by Jenova Chen, with original soundtrack composed by Austin Wintory. Wow it's rare for me to list the developer name oh so completely, it's because I want to thank all the guys in thatgamecompany for making this beautiful game and elevate the term 'game' into more general (aka more than FPS (aka more than CoD)). Thank you and thank you and I can't thank you enough.

We play as nameless cloaked wanderer and we begin our journey in the dessert with the mountain as our goal. There's no intro cut scene, and we don't even know what's there in the mountain, hence even the game don't say we should go to the mountain, but somehow you just know it you have to go there. As you wander around the dessert there's a simple tutorial which teach you how to jump, control your camera, or do an act that looks like shouting some notes. This shout is the only communicative act you can made, it'll charge your scarf, opening some way, and you can't speak with your friends but shouting will resonate your scarf with theirs. Oh yeah and the scarf act like your jumping energy, the longer it is the higher you can jump, and if you make contact with anything with the pattern of your scarf (be it regular paper, (something like) kite, (something like) very large fabric) you can jump very very very very very high and trust me it'll help you through the game.

Now now you realized you have to reach the mountain, the scarf and the shout will help you open the way and so begin the journey. From the dessert to (another(pink)) dessert, to some underground ruins, you'll walk, skate, and journey through all the place. I don't have to say it but you'll feel like on a some kind of pilgrimage, it's so ethereal . On the way you'll feel astonished on how beautiful the setting is, the sand goes gold under the light of the sun, and it shines more while the sun set. You can see the shadow stream beautifully like a symphony. Add the dreamy music at the background and you'll find yourself absorbed in the journey .

It doesn't always in the dessert, you'll go underground, upperground (hahah), and windy snowy super cold place. You'll find friends who goes on a journey too, but  you can't communicate at all, no names, you can only resonate the scarf each other. Along the way you will meet some creature who can cut your scarf and make it shorter (srew them), I honestly think the creature could become a collosus (Shadow of the Collosus referance). After a long journey you'll reach the snowy point and....... Ah hem, I don't want to spoil it go play yourself.

Conclusion
Journey is a pilgrimage adventure. You'll absorbed and awed at how beautiful the game was designed. The idea behind the game is original and new and the nameless friends and limited communication is meant so player won't prejudiced at each other (genius). The gameplay is mostly a bit platforming, but who cares because in Journey the gameplay is not the hightlight, but the journey you've gone through itself. The setting is really beautiful, the color choices was amazing, and the shadow and shade oh wow I have to kiss the shadow and shade, itt flows so beautifully you'll drop your jaw. Accompany the amazing setting with the Grammy nominated music (congratulations Austin Wintory) it will be epic. Journey is a must have game and has that impact, and I can still imagine we're talking about Journey in a couple of years.
P.S. : I have QCing it and my  typo is getting fewer and fewer who hoo. (glad for nothing)

[Review] Amour

Huh #longsigh I'm gonna reviewing Amour now. The reason for my long sigh is not because the movie was so bad, in fact it's so good and truthful, honest, and just like the old saying 'The truth is always hurt'. Let's waste no time, here's the review
*Warning this review represent my opinions only feel free to post yours

Aaaahhhh love, love, love, allll ya'll need is love (southern styles The Beatles).Okay honestly the sigh ya'll make at the end of this movie is not a happy sigh. It's not because this movie is bad, it's because this movie is not doing the one important thing what movie must do, it is 'Entertaining', it asks us to think and doesn't want to entertain us even for a tiny bit.Maybe some of you still confused on what I said before, but ya'll understand if ya'll keep reading. Have I said the director is Michael Haneke? I guess no, so yeah he's the director and he won palme d'or for the second time in a row with this movie, how cool is that?

The story is opened with firefighters check an apartment because of residents compalint only to find a corpse of an old woman. It stops and shows us a piano concert of a real pianist named Alexandre, in the story however he's Anne's student which played (marvelously) by Emmanuelle Riva. She along with her husband Georges which played (again, marvelously) by Jean-Louis Trintignant are upper middle class family, former music teacher. After the concert they come home, realized that someone tries to break through, and then do some small talk like regular couples do. Be wary that this is the end, ya'll (I mean we spectators) stuck in this very apartment until the end of the movie, so brace yourself. There's something fascinating when they come home and do that small talk, Geoege says you're beautiful to Anne. In their age, something like that is rare, hence even my parents never do those kind of things again, I think it's like a statement that they ARE really love each other.

The next day as usual they eat together, do small talks and then suddenly Anne fall silent, just like a robot run out of battery. When she react, she doesn't remember anything, and the truth is Anne got a stroke *sigh... I'm not gonna spoil the story so let's just say Anne will only got worse and Michael Haneke doesn't even try to hide how miserable Anne (and George) is. It's almost like cruel, there are tiny bit humor moments but mostly just ...... *sigh (again). The fact that 99% of the setting is in their apartment and not background music even for a tiny bit just *sigh (again).

Conclusion
Amour is a statement film, maybe your flesh will deterioting and then gone, but love will never cease to extinct, in the end only love that's left from their existence. No background music, because Michael Haneke doesn't want to console us with some relaxing music, he just wants the truth of age (and love) speaks for itself. What can I say again I'm just astonished, well playing from Emmanuelle Riva and Jean-Louis Trintignant, also Isabelle Huppert whose act as their child. Just heed my word, if you want to learn just abit truth of living a life, watch this movie but don't expect something that will entertain you. My own suggestion is watch this film, I just hope Michael Haneke will get what he deserves from Academy Award.

[Review] Girls Generation (SNSD) I Got a Boy

*Intro
I'm currently doing 2 reviews at the same time which is this review and Michael Haneke's film Amour. One thing for sure Amour will be post before Oscars hahaha. I don't usually reviewing K-Pop group album (besides BEG and Big Bang) because usually the other track beside the main track is only a filler, but I have to admit that...... uhm well it's for the closing hahaha.
*Warning this review represent my opinions only feel free to post yours

1. I Got a Boy

So the first track is the leading single, weird move, but not rare. Usually the leading single will be put at second or third, but let's not complicate ourselves with that thing. Okay now the song, the song itself is GREAT. It's not amazing, but hey they're not BEG or Big Bang, this is a massive improvement. The song is quirky, constantly improving, the time when you say 'the song will be going like this' it changes again surprising us again and again and again. A fun pop song that's kinda mixture of 2NE1 and Miss A I think. The only problem with this song is there are parts that's sound too aegyo it makes me cringe. Okay let's face it, it's GG anyway aegyo always exist, there are some parts that tolerable, but something like 'michyeoso michyeoso' arrrhhh. The lyric is standard, but at least it's not dumb. It's a great track, SNSD must be proud they finally doing something different and 'good'.
As for the MV, hahaha not as good as the music. I love the color, there's a sense of Harajuku style, and there's this romantic red scene like Sistar's Alone, although they dance in a box it's entertaining and not boring. My only problem is the guy is completely useless and the drama scene is useless, you can barely get anything there except our lovely ladies acting insanely cute. The concept is aegyo swag hahahaha, I said it, it's aegyo swag. For me it's a bit weird that doesn't mean it's bad, maybe just maybe GG will be the trendsetter of this concept. A few ladies (name Yuri and Hyoyeon) do their own concept which I called Feminine classy swag, they dress like 2ne1 with Miss A attitude. So great I love them. Wow just for a song and the sentence keep piling up and I haven't done the dance department. The dance is cool, they tossed their high heels, do something more energetic, it's refreshing. In general I love this, good job girls oh and anyone who review this badly is just a hater I think because although it's not perfect this is really good.

2. Dancing Queen

O...M....G.... I don't like to bash people so I'm gonna keep this short. Duffy's Mercy is a great song with retro blues influence that's really refreshing, and so this Dancing Queen (cause technically it's the same song with only different lyrics). This is SNSD pre-famous right? Yup I tolerate you for ruining such a great song with ridiculous concept and dance. Well this is an album so we can only hear and not see, I'll say this is a good song, just don;t watch the MV. Honestly Wonder Girls could do this better I think, but once again this is pre-famous so yeah it's okay.

3. Baby Maybe
Actually the song is really good, it feels like spring, fresh, the flowers are all blooming, and cute. The music is likeable and the lyric is cute without being too cute, it suits my palate and I actually love cute things so honestly I love this song. The problem is once again the way they singing, mostly it's good, but there are some parts they singing it too cute. This song is already cute, you don't need to add any sugar at all. So far this song reminds me of BoA's Japanese album The Face so I like it, good job girls or should I say Pixie Lott? hahaha. (It's originally Pixie Lott's demo they said)

4. 말해봐 (Talk Talk)
Uhm I don't find this song interesting, it's so standard. Both the tones and technique are common, but the singing is fit and I think only the capable one singing this song and the least capable like providing background hahaha that's just my guess. The auto tune used at the right time, they didn't use it too much. Uhm it's a very standard song not bad, but not good. So there aren't anything to comment actually ah hem...
(Oh yeah this is recycled from their Japanese album, and I was like (what??? Is it so hard to provide an original song))

5. Promise
This song is good. I do have a little fetish on ballad, but I will keep it clear here, it's not super outstanding but it's good unlike SNSD's previous ballad which seemed forced. It talks about past love, you break up, you cry, you passed it all, you want to move on, and you kinda retrace all the memories. It's good I like it, this is one of the strongest song in the album.

6. Express 999
I can't help it, it reminds me a bit with Britney, Spice Girls, but they make it more modern and it's amazing I love it. You can hear some trumpet mixed with the techno, the lyrics are unique and do I have to add it's sounds good and not cheesy. You can feel the beat and groove, overall this is a very exciting song and a really good job.

7. 유리아이 (Lost In Love)
Is this TTS? Because it sounds oh wow very very amazing. Hehe, the intro with piano and glass sound really makes it sound so dreamy and sad at the same time. The girls voice sounds amazing, the notes also needs some technique and I just can't imagine all 9 SNSD sang this. This track sounds almost like BEG, WHAT?! BEG?! What a progress have you made SNSD. I love it, people will and should love it, good job.

8. Look at Me
Huh, so far I've been so happy listening to the album, a rare case for SNSD material btw that's why my happiness goes double up. And this song ruin it all. I'm not saying this song is super bad, in fact the indian drums and flute can be cool like Jai Ho, but instead it goes into cutesy and the girls also sang it with cuteness overload my head is spinning around. The lyrics also kinda silly haha maybe it's just me. Whatever next please.

9. XYZ
This is a catchy electronic song, I like it but I also think the bpm is kinda slow. An electronic song must tempt  you to dance, and this song is a tad slower to tempt me to dance. Overall I like it, this is like Britney, Ke$ha, Rihanna. The lyrics penned by our lovely girls Yuri and SeoHyun and quite good. Honestly this track is quite good I kinda spechless on what to comment.

10. 낭만길 (Romantic St.)
Another ballad with spring screaming with every notes played. The intro is grandiose, there's this jay swing smell from afar and then it changes to (luckily) not too cute sound, it's in a tolerable dose. In fact it sounds good. Too bad Jessica's voice is too nasal I'm sorry queen it's the fact, she can trade lines with Sunny whose voice is cute in a good way. I love this song what can I say.

I Got a Boy is a great album, SNSD album usually sounds like trash boxed in a very beautiful package. But this time, it's sound like a real album. The tracks are very good and doesn't feel like a filler, I'm having fun reviewing this album because every tracks are worth to listen to (except Look at Me), they tossed their high heels, the dance energitically, and it pays. For every person who thinks this album still sounds bad, I can assure you they're just haters, it's not perfect, but this is absolutely not a bad album.
